TURTLE

I lie to myself

Spit into the wind

Put off the things that help my life begin.

Pull out my hair

Speaking it circles, too

Fall of my chair a fool.

Been chasing me for hours

God dammit the

I lie to myself

Spit into the wind

Put off the things that help my life begin.

Pull out my hair

Speaking it circles, too

Fall of my chair a fool.

Been chasing me for hours

God dammit they won't quit

Could really use a shower or something close to it.

The crime that I committed

A mystery to me

I might as well admit it.

A different town again

Burning out the day

I can't remember when I didn't have to run away.

Sit here and I wonder

How my story ends

Can I get another?

I'll have one last drink before I hit the road

But, it's a bad idea or so I'm told.

Run, run, turtle run.

Why you taking so long?

I'll see you when I get there

Run, run, turtle run.

y won't quit

Could really use a shower or something close to it.

The crime that I committed

A mystery to me

I might as well admit it.

A different town again

Burning out the day

I can't remember when I didn't have to run away.

Sit here and I wonder

How my story ends

Can I get another?

I'll have one last drink before I hit the road

But, it's a bad idea or so I'm told.

Run, run, turtle run.

Why you taking so long?

I'll see you when I get there

Run, run, turtle run.

YOU

The way you take command of the room you walk in, it's easy when you've got that style.

That's making all the boys wanna turn their heads, you've been doing this for a while.

You got it down to a Science the way that you move, the scent coming off of your skin.

I know you're bad news, shouldn't be looking at you, all you make me wanna do is sin.

I said you.

You're on fire like a witch on a stake.

And with all you silly potions and your sly hypnotic motions, it's enough to make a poor man ache.

I said you.

I know you're bad for me like liquor and drugs.

But, like a vice you've got your grip and lord knows I've tried to slip it, but baby you're just too much fun.

Our eyes hit but only for a second and you're smiling as I'm tipping my hat.

You know my head is dizzy, there's a thump in my chest, like a fighter that just hit the mat.

So I walk up to you and buy you a drink, knowing if I play this right.

That when the clock strikes two, and it's time to go home, you'll be getting another tip tonight.

Next morning I awake and you're already gone along with my possessions and cash.

The only damn thing that could be worse right now, is if you went ahead and gave me a rash.

Sitting on my bed, a smile on my face, knowing I've been played the fool.

Don't know no better 'cause I'd do it again, I'd just make sure to hide my money and jewels.
